Dan Posner is the VP of business development at Big Leap. Big Leap is an award-winning digital marketing agency founded on trust, focused on relationships, and motivated by your long-term success. While Dan is unarguably well versed in SEO and reputation management, his passion for sales and connection is evident throughout this week’s episode. Tune in to learn how it can benefit your brand.

Here are a few highlights from this episode:

What is the most important aspect of the guest experience nowadays?

“Here’s something that has always stuck out to me. Are you the person who thinks that you are the the star character in your movie and everybody else is an NPC or are you the kind of person that realizes that everyone is the star character of their own movie? In reality, everyone should be the main character of their own play or of their own movie . . .

. . . So with that principle in place, it could relate to anything, take wait time. How are you treating them while there’s a 40 min wait? What’s the experience from that standpoint? What’s the experience of the food? What does it look like? What does it taste like? Each part of that becomes a am I being treated like I’m the star of my own show or not.”

What successful strategies and tactics have you seen/tried?

Gamification.

“I love to see restaurants gamify their loyalty programs and make them more fun and engaging. Include a program that gets people to continue to return to the website and continue to return to the stores because they were being able to download free food and the appetizers. I’ve seen Ruby Tuesday use a slot machine project they were able to get a free soda. Make it more fun and make it engaging.”

Who deserves an Ovation?

Maria Bonita’s, Orem UT

“I’d like to shout out the customer experience side of Maria Bonita’s. Once you’re there, you’re part of the family, and that matriarch is going to make you feel like you’re one of the kids.”

Alex McArthur

“Not in the restaurant industry, but someone that is definitely constantly cutting edge in terms of just marketing and customer experience and trying to elevate brands.”
