Here’s one of our takeaways from this episode and Aaron’s answers to some of our questions:

Featured Takeaway: Personalize The Delivery Experience

“It’s about being hospitable. So what does that mean? It means when someone comes into your restaurant, or when they’re ordering online, or when they’re getting their food delivered, they are genuinely happy.

So how do you create that happiness? You make sure your orders are consistent, make sure you’re not missing out items, make sure everything that they ordered is there the way they ordered it.”

What’s something successful you’ve seen or tried lately?

“The acceptance of online ordering, delivery, and meeting their customer wherever they’re at. A lot of restaurants were reluctant to that. So join the bandwagon, don’t be afraid of it. It’s not going to bite.

But going beyond that, creating that customized user experience. Where the online ordering greets you by name, or remembers your orders, or presents your favorites.”

Who is someone in the industry that deserves an Ovation?

“These robotics companies that are coming online… They’re able to bring in things that help assist restaurants, especially with staffing being so tough these days…So it’s going to really improve the efficiency and the consistency of the restaurant, especially the back of house.”
