Leslie Silverglide is the CEO and Co-Founder of Mixt Greens. Mixt Greens makes healthy fast food accessible and sets the bar on sustainable restaurant operations. With education from John Hopkins, Oxford, AND Stanford Leslie is not just a thinker, she is a doer. Leslie prioritizes improving operations through environmental impact, healthy food options, and new and improved tech. Tune in to heat how she has accomplished all of this and more!

Here are a few highlights from this episode:

What is the most important aspect of the guest experience?

“The most important aspect has definitely shifted with COVID. There are new channels for selling your product (online, third party, dining in) and this can create complexity. Given this area for lack of control, I believe the most important aspect is maintaining consistency. That includes consistency of brand, consistency of flavor and taste, and continuing to meet the guest expectations.”

What are some successful tactics you’ve seen or tried lately?

“We focus a tremendously on team training. That includes not only how our team members interact with the guests but what they bring to the table (literally and metaphorically). We make sure our expectations are crystal clear so our team members are able to deliver. This ultimately leads to happy team members and people that stay/ bring their friends and really continue to build our culture.”

Who deserves an Ovation in the restaurant industry?

Leslie gave out not one, not two, but THREE ovations! Make sure to check these people out!

1. Brett Schulman, Cava

“Brett does a great job on focusing and nailing their core concept: delivering a good product consistently and being able to expand on that.”

2. Lauren Bailey, Upwards Project/ Postino

“She has done an awesome job taking Postino and transform it to something awesome from one location/ geography to another. It’s been awesome to watch her scale.”

3. David Gibbs, Yum! Brand

“He such a thoughtful leader in the space. He has forty thousand (ish) restaurants that he’s responsible for in some way or another. It’s impressive how he is able to maintain the scale of his team and simultaneously grow and support the industry as a whole.”
